Con la llegada de la gala de premios un año más, los cantantes más representativos de la música country fueron homenajeados durante la 46 ª edición de la Annual Academy of Country Music Awards que tuvo lugar el domingo por la noche (3 de abril).
Celebrada en el MGM Grand Garden Arena de Las Vegas, los grandes ganadores de 2011 fueron Taylor Swift como Artista del Año y Miranda Lambert, que levantó cuatro trofeos como Cantante Femenina del Año y Canción del Año. Otros casos de éxito que consiguieron llevarse un premio a casa fueron Brad Paisley como Vocalista Masculino del Año y Sugarland como Top Vocal Dúo del Año. Mientras tanto, Reba McEntire fue elegida para recibir el premio Career Achievement, Taylor Swift ganó el Premio Internacional de Jim Reeves y la película “Campo Fuerte” fue seleccionada como la ganadora del Premio Tex Ritter. Ofreciendo a los espectadores entretenimiento, en la línea de fuego de los ACM estuvieron los artistas Sara Evans y Miranda Lambert, mientras que Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Rihanna y Jennifer Nettles ayudaron a dinamizar la multitud.
